Dominican Republic Mission Trip
June 19-24, 2027 (Six days, five nights)
Destination: Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
Cost: approximately $1,600 per person ($1,000 for team fees + cost of flights + team materials)
The Team: 10-20 people. Great opportunity for individuals and families. Minimum age is rising 9th graders (anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian). No maximum age. All team members will need a passport that is valid through December 19, 2027.
We will be going to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic with Second Chance Global (https://secondchanceglobal.org/). While there, we will worship on Sunday with the local community, visit with residents in their homes and make connections with them, and have VBS-like activities and sports with local kids in the afternoons. Accommodations for the team are in a comfortable, air-conditioned guest house throughout the week where we will have evenings for worship and devotion, recreation, and rest. On our departure day, we will also have recreation time in another local city known for being a tourist destination where we can shop, eat, and experience another side of the culture.
These trips are excellent for first-time team members as well as folks with experience on overseas mission trips. The goal is to make connections, empower local support and empowerment, and to allow God to ignite something new in us that we can bring home to Kennesaw.
The cost of this trip is higher than our domestic mission trips for a few different reasons, primarily transportation and cost of interpreters. Because of this, we encourage signing up early so we can begin personal and team fundraising to reduce the financial burden.
